SunTek is Far More Than Just Window Tinting

If you haven’t given it much thought, you might have been thinking that window tinting serves little purpose other than looking “cool” but there is far more to it than that. And “cool” has a lot to do with it, but not the way you might think. So, let’s cover the first and most obvious advantage of applying a darker layer of film to your car’s glass – to keep the interior cooler and afford your dashboard and upholstery some valuable UV protection. What with the temperature extremes often experienced in South Africa – not to mention that we get on average 300 days of sunshine per year – being cooler and protecting your car’s interior is always a great idea.

Another fairly obvious advantage of window tinting is that would-be intruders cannot properly see what is going on in your vehicle because of the darkened glass. And opportunistic smash-and-grab thief wants to be able to see what they can rob you of and if they cannot, they will often regard it as too much of a risk for little potential reward – and move on to the next vehicle. This is especially effective at night, went darkened glass can make it virtually impossible to see what is going on inside the vehicle.

The third benefit is probably not so obvious and that is that a good window-tinting film like SunTek is about more than just the way it looks. It is also a safety feature that makes the window far harder to break. Car windscreens are laminated, meaning that they have a plastic layer sandwiched between two layers of glass. This reinforces the pane, which is why a windscreen stays in one piece, even when it breaks. Side glass is almost never laminated and disintegrates into thousands of granules upon impact. SunTek film holds the pane together and hinders access, so you have time to drive away from the scene.

SunTek window-tinting film is worth it just for this last safety benefit and we offer it in two thicknesses, namely 100 and 150 microns. You can choose between a 35% and a 50% tint too but if your car windows’ natural factory tint is dark enough for your taste, you can simply apply a clear SunTek film that does not alter your car’s appearance at all – yet still confers all the safety benefits of the stronger glass.

Electronic Fitment Centre can apply SunTek window tinting film to your car’s windows as well at OEM standards for that professional appearance. Contact us today about this top-quality safety product.
