Tinting Your Vehicle’s Windows

Window tinting started out as a purely aesthetic upgrade to a vehicle. With a wide selection of tints available in the late ‘90s and early 2000s, many car enthusiasts opted to tint their car windows. The dark tints were quickly outlawed and the percentage of tint allowed was limited to a maximum of 50%. Fortunately, you can still have your car windows tinted, but now it has also turned into a safety upgrade for your vehicle. How is that?
Regular window tint merely consists of a tinted film on the interior of your vehicle’s windows to make the windows darker. Since colours are no longer allowed, only a percentage of black can be added to car windows. However, darkening your windows is a very good idea for improving the overall safety of your car, making it more difficult for would-be smash-and-grab thieves to look in. Talking of thieves breaking windows, why not opt for a smash-and-grab safety film instead of just a regular tinting film? Smash-and-grab window tint does two jobs in one.
SunTek Safety Films
Electronic Fitment Centre fits SunTek window safety films to increase the resistance of your vehicle’s windows against impacts. These safety films are, of course, also window tints, and they are available in clear, 35%, and 50% films. With a 50% safety film fitted to your vehicle’s windows, it will drastically reduce visibility into the car from the outside. In turn, criminals are less likely to smash your vehicle’s windows in when stationary at a traffic light or stop sign. But that is not where the benefits of SunTek safety film stops.
When this safety film is applied to your vehicle’s windows, they increase the shatter resistance of your windows. Should there be an impact on the window, the film will prevent the window from simply shattering into a million pieces. The film will hold the pieces of the shattered window in place and in one piece. It buys valuable time for the driver to react and quickly drive away. The film also hinders easy access to the interior of the vehicle when a window is smashed, making these films far more than just regular window tinting.
Electronic Fitment Centre offers a wide variety of vehicle upgrades and fitment options for your daily driver. With SunTek’s selection of window safety film, we offer more than just regular window tint.
