If the vehicle is too light or the trailer or caravan incorrectly packed, it can lead to an unstable and dangerous towing situation where the rear end of the vehicle is steered by the heavy cargo being pulled along. Towbar fitment is therefore recommended for larger and heavier vehicles if you intend to tow a big caravan.
